Hampton Roads Pride Oktoberfest.

Last night’s Oktoberfest hosted by Hampton Roads Pride at the Jewish Mother Backstage in downtown Norfolk was nothing short of wunderbar. Oktoberfest was the first of what the non-profit hopes to be monthly get-togethers to raise funds for their inaugural open Community Thanksgiving Dinner – a sit-down meal provided to LGBT individuals who might otherwise spend Thanksgiving alone because they do not have a healthy and supportive family environment, and LGBT college students who can’t afford to go home for the holiday. The monthly events will also help raise money for the Hampton Roads Pride LGBT Festival, Out in the Park. Last year, Out in the Park drew over 17,000 people and it was the first LGBT event of its size in the city of Norfolk!

Hampton Roads Pride hopes to raise over $60,000 before next year’s Out in the Park.
